Come and join us for the virtual the launch of ‘State of Sheffield 2020: The Impacts of COVID-19 on the People of Sheffield’
In 2019, our State of Sheffield event was all about exploring people’s real experiences of life in our city; instead of launching a 2019 report, we spent time listening to people from across our neighbourhoods and communities talk about what Sheffield is like for them. This work built on the commitments we set out in our 2018 Framework for an Inclusive & Sustainable Economy. Following those conversations we set to work on developing a 2020 report which would present a snapshot of life across the city, told in people’s own words, alongside the more traditional data and discussions. However, since March of this year, we have all been faced with unprecedented challenges and many changes to our way of life in Sheffield, and for this reason the Sheffield City Partnership made the decision to focus our 2020 State of Sheffield report on painting a picture of what life has been like for Sheffielders during this pandemic in particular, understanding the impacts from the perspective of different communities and bringing together what we know in one place which is accessible to everyone. At this event we will be launching a written report alongside a new website which will provide a new way of sharing the report content and other useful links, as well as a space for sharing more information, insights and experiences over the coming year.
We’d like to invite you to come together online to hear these perspectives, reflect on the key messages, and help us identify the next steps we need to take together to respond, and ultimately rebuild and recover, in an inclusive way.
There will be an introduction by Lord Blunkett, Chair of Sheffield City Partnership Board, with other speakers and breakout sessions to be confirmed.
