At this meeting we heard about the impact organisations in the Voluntary, Community and Faith sector had on the city during the pandemic, discussed their value to Sheffield and how they can be sustained as an asset for the future.
10.55 am - The impact of VCS in Sheffield during the pandemic, and beyond - Helen Steers, Chief Executive of VAS and Andy Buck, Chair of VAS introduced this item. Professor Chris Dayson of Sheffield Hallam University presented the findings of research in Sheffield on this issue. The main purpose of this item was to highlight the value of the VCS as a whole as an asset to the city, to touch on its potential fragility, and start a conversation about how the city as a whole could take action to sustain it for the future. 11.40 am - Sheffield City Council - development of priorities - Kate Josephs, Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council gave a verbal update on work to develop the Council’s priorities and progress towards the development of a Corporate Plan aligned to the city’s agenda.
