At this meeting, our first of 2023, we sought to build on the great work we did as a partnership in 2022 and the sense of momentum we felt in November, when we discussed our ambitious plans for the year ahead, including the City Goals. As well as updates on our ongoing projects and areas of interest, we heard about two exciting initiatives which will be launching in 2023 – the work which Sheffield Hallam University are leading around the National Civic Impact Accelerator (this is designed to help universities increase the impact of their civic activity to deliver more for their local areas), and Sheffield Poverty Truth, a process which will bring together people with lived experience of poverty with civic and business leaders, in order to support lasting change. These two projects are important and innovative in their own right, but are also highly relevant to our City Goals work in terms of the insights they will contribute on how we share learning and knowledge more effectively across the city, how we engage with new networks and build trust between residents and institutions, and how we can collaborate more effectively to achieve our goals together in Sheffield.
