At this meeting we heard items around various action areas which relate to our inclusive and sustainable economy work - this included discussion around people’s lived experience, poverty and fairness. We were also updated on some of our previous actions/discussions.
11.10 am Engagement and State of Sheffield 2020 - Laura White, Strategy & Partnerships Manager, presented on next steps for the Board’s engagement work and plans for State of Sheffield 2020. Amy Barnes, Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Sheffield discussed with Board ScHARR’s plans to support the Board’s engagement work, particularly around using the content we have already gathered and reflecting on the learning from the process.
11.35 am Sheffield City Council Governance Review Update - Cllr Sionned-Mair Richards of Sheffield City Council and James Henderson, Director of Policy, Performance and Communications at SCC updated the Board on the findings of the OSMC review. They also updated on interim findings of the Big City Conversations work.
12.10 pm Poverty, Social Exclusion and Fairness Partnership Update - The Very Reverend Peter Bradley, Dean of Sheffield, Cllr Jackie Drayton, Cabinet Member for Children & Families and Cllr Dawn Dale, Cabinet Advisory for Children & Families asked the Board to endorse the proposal for the PSEF group to continue with a renewed sense of purpose, starting with a review of the evidence and the development of a light touch partner owned poverty and fairness strategy/set of priorities.
